Going FULLY ELECTRIC (Automatic) from 18/03/24

I am so excited to share the news with you that from 18th March 2024 Lightning School of Motoring will become what I believe to be ROTHERHAM’S FIRST FULLY ELECTRIC DRIVING SCHOOL!

I have made this change so that Lightning (EV) School of Motoring is fully in sync with the direction the car industry and Government / Environmental policies are heading. Electric vehicles and full Hybrid vehicles are Automatic transmission cars. This means that automatic cars are rapidly becoming more and more popular on our roads.

We are also in the UK finding an increasing number of Clean Air Zones around our Towns and Cities. Electric Vehicles have no emissions while you drive so are welcomed in these areas.

Modern Hybrid’s and EV’s are also incredibly fun and easy to drive. As they are considered easier to drive this can help drivers to fully concentrate on our busy roads and be very safe motorists.

Our training car will be the Electric version of the fantastic MINI COOPER S. This car is both environmentally friendly and a real ‘Drivers Car’ with fantastic ‘Go Kart’ style handling and over 180 BHP.

When you pass your driving test you will have a driving licence for Automatic and Electric Vehicles. There are plenty of good value used automatic cars around if you prefer this for your own first car. Then maybe an EV later as new and used prices are really improving.
